Kashmir "A Paradise made Hell"

Hi frns ,
post
ur comments abt wht u feel abt the kashmir and about the struggle of the brave ppl of this land who are being killed but they never backed off because they know the cause they are fighting for is the just one. Many poets and great intellectuals have named Kashmir as the "Paradise on Earth" but the occupational nation india has made it a living hell for the ppl of this beautiful land. India has always tried to suppress the voice of the ppl of kashmir and are still trying the same but now it ain't gona b easy. The ppl of kashmir ain't gonna remain silent unless they are given the Right of Self Determination..............it is the land of kashmiri's so let them decide thr future.

i request all ma kashmiri Frnz to please raise
ur voice against injustice n try to post the ground realities of IOK so tht the world gets aware abt the situation in kashmir n how the innocent ppl of kashmir suffer becoz of the forced occupation by so called democratic india................. every one must knw tht india ain't love justice, india ain't got humanity............ n now let them knw tht the ppl of kashmir are dedicated towards the just cause of freedom and tht we gona fight till the end and will take this long struggle to its logical end...................its our duty to help our nation attain its complete independence so let us wake up from the deep slumber of ignorance n let us at least do the least we can by spreading the message and highlight the plight of our nation and the agony of our ppl so tht the kashmir issue gets the support of the international communities as well.......

India has implemented
AFSPA(Armed forces special powers act) in kashmir which has given a free hand to its men in uniform to spill the blood of innocent n unarmed ppl of kashmir who r fighting for thr basic right of independence....................

comment n pray
tht our NATION KASHMIR attains complete INDEPENDENCE.........

An answer to the question can our economy survive independently

Self-sufficiency a step ahead, Valley geoscientist shows the way

Says Kashmir floating on oil, gas resources

Don’t be amazed at the thought of Kashmir achieving self-sufficiency. With its huge mineral resource base, experts believe, self-sufficiency cannot be an unattainable goal for Kashmir. Not just that, experts believe the economic blockades like the one recently enforced on the Valley could have only a marginal impact on Kashmir if measures are taken to explore and exploit the potential resources of the Valley.
Noted geoscientist Abdul Majid Bhat believes that apart from being rich in mineral resources like lignite, graphite, limestone, marble, gypsum, borax, sapphire, slate stone, uranium, etc, the Valley has a great potential for natural gas. “It is high time to invest in this area so as to reap the rewards,” Bhat who has worked as general manager, J&K Minerals, said.
“The valley is completely floating on gas, so there is a tremendous potential for natural gas in Kashmir. I have established this fact thirty years back when I published a paper in the Bulletin of American Association of Petroleum Geologists under the title “Natural Gas in Kashmir,” he said.
“After making several investigations,” Bhat said, “he had come up with a detailed account of oil and gas presence in J&K as well as in Himachal Pradesh.”
“During my research I would examine the well diggings in the Valley. Mostly three important things were observed by me: The labourer used to feel giddy, he would fell unconscious after some time and when a match stick was thrown inside, it would burn which indicated the presence of the methane gas,” he said.
Bhat believes that Kashmir was a part of Tethyan Sea and that the movement between Gondwana Land and Laurasia has created decomposition of vast organic matter within the drilling up to the depth of 2000 meters. “Geotectonic study provides the clue for the entrapment of hydrocarbons in the state which has until now remained unexplored. Pressure and temperature over the years has stabilized the hydrocarbon traps within the rocks of Proterozoic and Plio-Pleistocene formation,” he said.
He added, “The state was subjected to two periods of folding, one after the Eocene and another at the beginning in the Pliocene and continued up to Pleistocene. Marine and Terrestrial creatures perished in a massive extinction between the Permain and Triassic periods and are preserved in Guryul (Khonmoh) fossils. This created the intra mountain basin known as Kashmir Valley. It resulted into the migration of hydrocarbons during the orogenics episode with entrapment between two opposing ranges. The state is located tectonically in a zone of compression from the east and west forming a “V” shaped pattern of the bordering orogenic zones.”
He said, “In Assam valley of north east India with proved oil fields on both Mynmar/India side, a similar V shaped pattern caused due to southward compression from the Himaliyas resulting in the oil field of Potwar basin and Sui of proved nature, while as on the side of Jammu and Kashmir it is yet to be proved as it requires a deep drilling up to 2000 mtrs.”
Given the fact that the energy return ratio of oil is falling constantly, Bhat believes that it is high time to put more energy in locating new oil bearing horizons. “Since Energy Return Ratio of oil is constantly declining as petroleum recovery is getting more difficult, it is sensible to invest in the area of Himalayas,” he said.
The geoscientist however feels that government and department of science and technology were not showing any interest in exploring the oil and gas reserves in J&K. “The government is not supporting the geoscientists who want to explore the mineral potential of the state,” he said.
Bhat said he feared that because of the indifference of the government he may miss an important South Asia Premier Geo Science event in Delhi this month attending which would be in the interest of state. “I am invited by Oil and Natural gas Corporation GOI to present a paper about Natural Gas in Kashmir. I approached the Science and Technology Department for some financial assistance three months back but they seem unresponsive. I have decided not to attend the said conference as a mark of protest in case I am not being provided the assistance,” he said, adding that though he knew it was harmful for him “as well as the state but I am forced to do it.”
To mention Bhat has the distinction of being the geoscientist who had discovered marble in the valley in 1975 and was also named as the geoscientist of the year. “I discovered the marble in Drugmalla and Zirahama of district Kupwara. It was the world’s best marble and was comparable with the Italian marble. That time I even got a telegram from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia asking for the marble worth four crore rupees which was to be used in Makkah. However we could not manage it because we had no machines to manage such a consignment,”
Bhat said: “We have enormous mineral potential. The entire valley is filled with limestone. We can have hundreds of workshops involving limestone only. We have potential for Uranium, Gas, Oil, Sapphire etc. I can make a powerhouse using Lignite. The only thing needed is government support,” he said.
The potential of mineral resources in the valley can be gauged from the publication of Gemological Association of Great Britain published on the completion of its hundred years. It notes: ‘The mines may prove one of the largest biggest revenue earners of Kashmir in the future.’

Let all people reading this comment cum 2 know dat Kashmir nd kashmiris want plebiscite nd nothing less. Our progress has been hampered by de colonial India which has always played a role in dismantling our industries and virtually taking our economy 2 a standstill.Apart frm dat we r being killed on de streets ,our women raped, youth made 2 disappear in custody and 2 add to it frm last 1 month we r facing an economic blockade were in no trucks even wid essential supplies reach de valley of kashmir. At present a curfew has been imposed at us nd orders of shoot at site hav been issued, people all over de valley r taken as hostages & even ambulances rnt allowed 2 run on de roads.Yesterday about 15 people including a women nd a child hav been killed nd about 150 others injured.IS this by any way justice n does it seem by ny way dat we r living in a democratic country???

People all over de valley want 2 seek azadi or complete freedom nd 2 prove it we want a plebscite to be conducted so dat every 1 including India comes 2 know abt wat we people want

the genocides, the rapes, the terror &
of course the racial discrimination by the so called soldiers of India cant stop the kashmiri people now.it has become crystal clear to everybody
that kashmiris are no more a part of India .we need freedom from the brutal colonial power of India,we have already paid a huge price of lives for freedom.even if india and its allies use their whole power 2 suppress the sentiments of kashmiris , they cant stop it coz now its a juggernaut unstoppable.

yet again basic human rights were trampled as the valley was put under siege to halt the peaceful Jamia Chalo march by the so called worlds largest democracy. It was not only that our right to protest was denied but our right to Practice one's religion was also denied as the Historic Jamia Masjid was cordoned and people were not allowed to reach there for prayers and were thus stopped from performing their religious obligation.......
